Recommend me a free video editor?

I've been using Windows Movie Maker, but I never much liked it and it just started crashing randomly on me, so I'm looking for something else. I don't need a huge amount of bells and whistles, just something to stitch together photos and Contour video. What do you use?

There's not much in the way of free editing software, apart from iMovie (mac) and Windows Live Movie Maker (PC).

I like adobe premiere elements for $100. I use adobe premiere pro ($$$), but most people (including me) won't use all its features. You can also do a month-to-month plan with Adobe. I haven't tried it yet, and it seems expensive.

Looks like just my speed. I didn't know Photobucket would let you edit videos, I'll check that out first.
