I have been needing a new compressor since my old one took a dump over a year ago, I have been looking at the 60 gallon size with a 3.7 horse motor. Is it worth the extra 300 bucks to step up to the 5 horse dual stage compressor? I will be running impact guns and such off of it nothing to crazy.

Thanks Guys

I have used a Sears 30 Gal. for 14 years and it still works. Used for roofing, nail gun, impact wrench, etc. Unless you are thinking of heavy industrial use I would stay with the oil less.

I hate the noise of the oil less compressors is the main reason I want an oiled compressor and I dont think they make a 60 gallon or larger with the oil less

Yep, it's worth it to go two stage if you can. Even though a single-stage will probably do everything you INTEND to use it for, the extra capacity will come in handy for using air-hungry stuff. (Plasma for me, but die grinders eat up a ton, or sanders, etc) Also, the less the compressor runs to keep up with you, the less water it generates in your tank/air lines for you to remove.

Oil less compressors are the best if you love stuff that is way too loud and slow. If not then a oil compressor is for you. I would go with at least 60 gallons or 228 liters. Two stage is cool but more money. I think it is always worth the extra money when buying tools.

I had a 60 gallon oil less once upon a time. It was so loud I hated to run it. Rattled the house. Found a sweet deal on a used two stage. It is a awesome compressor for airing up the neighbor kids bike tires.

Call and ask about this one...can't see much in the picture, since it's wrapped in plastic...but I'd hope for two stage, and single-phase 220 power. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=21994990&cat=226&lpid=18&search=
Wow, that looks too good to be true to me! I'm in the process of going to a 80 gallon two stage. If your still looking in a week or so I'll sell you my 60 gallon single stage for $300.00 It is a 3 cylinder pump I bought new 4 or 5 years ago along with a new 5 horse 220 motor. I just use it in my home garage, so it hasn't been run tons.
