I am headed to Moab with my ATV for the first time. (with an ATV, not to Moab, I usually take the early Bronco)

Which trails are the most fun for moderate 4X4 Atv's?

I will be there in March.

Thanks.

Scott, look up a trail called Hidden Canyon, out North-West of town. You take Blue Hills road to access the area. Lots of sand, washes and fun canyons. The Pickle is in the same area.

If the weather is good Canes Creek is a blast on ATVs with all of the water crossings. Also had a good time on Behind the Rocks trail, there is a lot of area out there to play around on.

I've run the trio on an atv, it was a blast. Also, there is a moad atv trail book out now. Its put out by the same people that did the famous moab trail guide book that most of us probably have.

I have done Steel Bender, Metal Masher, 7 Mile pass, Hells revenge, Poison Spider, and Klondike on my 2-wheel drive 400 EX but I am somewhat of an experienced rider but some of the obstacles woud be challenging for novice riders. I will try to get some pics up soon of some of the trails. This is my wheeler that did it so if you have a 4-wheel drive then you should be fine on any of these trails.. on Poision Spider I remembered there was a large "cliff" pretty much on it that I had to get strapped up by a Jeep just fyi so that one may be out of the question if you don't have a truck in your group..

If you want a fun one and kinda senic trail do Hey Joe canyon. My kids love that one cause at the end of it there is a bull dozer they love to play on and a mine you can go in as well..

One of our guys has the same quad as you but all the rest of us have 4x4's with winches so I am not too worried about most ledges.

this is good info thank you!

Behind the Rocks

A bunch of us from Denver go out after EJS every year. We camp out near the sand dunes between Pritchet and BTR. Kane creek starts out from this area too. Fun for all abilities, rigs.

Thanks guys!

I was fortunate enough to head to Moab with some good friends last weekend. It was a short two day trip. We had a KX 500, a Honda 450__ (4 Stroke 2 wd screamer) and my 700 polaris.

That makes for a really mismatched group, all the bikes had some strenghts and weakness'.

Great weather and good times. We ran Behind the Rocks, Pritchett Arch area, Kane Creek, Chicken Corners, and lots of other trail areas near Kane Creek. With much soreness we made it back to Idaho on Sunday.

We had one wreck, a few winch spots and lots of throttle. Moab is a completely differnt place on atv's. It was fun hitting some easier trails and having them be very challenging.

Thank you for all of the pointers! Greg, I couldn't find good enough directions to Hey Joe Canyon from locals, but I will head down again to try it. That is where the hiker cut his arm off a few years ago.
