Ok I know this has been covered a million times, I just haven't been able to find it. I was Have a 90 xj that is a finally only driven off road. I was wondering is there a way to register my jeep to avoid emissions but still be able to drive to the trail from where we drop the tow rig?

Do you mean just register for off-road only? If so, yes.

Why is it you don't want to/Cant pass Emissions? Honestly the best would be to pass, other than that, as spork said, you could move to/know someone that lives in a county that doesn't require emissions. But you would still need to pass Safety.

Anybody know the consequences, if any, of registering your rig in a different county? I know a lot of people who do it just wondering what happens if they get caught.

Thanks for everyones input. I will probably just register it as a ohv since its a trailer queen. I just tow it to Moab on a 18 wheeler and didn't want to have issues with UHP when getting from one trail to another.
