We just had our first kid and I want to put one in my wife's 4runner. I'm leaning towards the viper smart start I love the idea of not needing your keys to start your car and retaining the factory key fob. If anyone has one I'd like some real world feed back the reviews online are mixed. I'm open to other models as well so let me know what you think.

They should get a side jobs section for stuff like this... Want to start your vehicle with the factory fobs? I gotcha. If your fobs still operate when the ignition is on, it can happen; otherwise you'll start the vehicle then you'd have to use the key to unlock. The other issue with using the factory fobs is you're limited to factory fob range but this is not an issue for a lot of people. Spend a little more and get a 2 way that has crazy range and tells you via display that your vehicle is running, unlocked or locked... that's gangster.

I can hook you up but DEI is the devil so I don't deal with them... they're definitely a company in decline.

Python = DEI. I am sure that it's fine but I can't hook you up with anything DEI. I'd be interested in what kind of quotes installed you're getting which has everything to do with what year your vehicle is. Late-model vehicles will require transponder bypass which can cost about the same as the starter itself.
