Repairing a tire sidewall...

I need to have 2 punctures repaired in the sidewall of my TSL SX tire. Does anybody have any good experiences or any references on who to go to? One is a sharp cut very near the bead and the other is more of a puncture about middle of the sidewall.

I'm weary of "booting" it because of the low psi I run would likely cause it to eventually come apart again. Does anybody know if I would have good luck running a tube in the tire? If so, where in the world do you find a tube that size? I haven't been lucky finding one.

There is a guy in Mountain Home, Id that is now fixing them.

There is a thread on Planet about it. If nothing else I can take it up when I go hunting in november (the first 10 days of november)

Yhe have a large setup in the back where they re-cap semi tires. Good as new so far, and i've not been easy on it.

That makes me feel a lot better about my situation. Neither of the holes are near that size. :D

Do you know if they sectioned it or just booted it?

I know that they poured in new rubber and baked it in with the re-caps....... other than that I can only tell you what I paid.

Cool untill now I had never heard of a reliable way to patch a sidewall  I ran a "patched" 35 this spring and it lasted 50 miles on the street and 5 minutes in the dirt

BTT - I have the tire unmounted and ready to fix. Anybody recommend a place here in the SL Valley that can reliably fix this?

If Jacks in Logan does it, Jacks in Orem might do it for you as well.

Shane, I can probably get that delivered to Cache Valley in the next week or two? My parents will be moving and I'll be taking a few days off to help a little.

Absolutely! Go down to Teraflex, see Carl and pick up some Maxxis stickies........

sorry buddy, had to:greg:

Well that would be a no brainer. I like to do things the hard way. :D

Hmm... I'll try to find something closer. That timeline is too far out. I need it repaired within 7 or so day.

Keep us posted on what you end up doing and the whole of it. I have a patch on the sidewall of my spare and it pisses me off since it has more tread than those I'm driving on. Just don't trust it and would love to fix it to where I can use it.
