Replacing a U Joint

So I'm replacing my U Joint in my 1952 Sami and I noticed that the Joint had all this greese in the caps. I took all the bearings out and cleaned them and the inside of the caps with carb cleaner and was able to remove the greese.
I also lost one of the bearings that go in the cap, but I figure that since there are so many, missing one won't hurt.

My question is,

Will painting the U joint hurt it?

Thanks,

I think you should check your muffler bearings...........the u-joint is fine, unless your Sami is gray, then you should check the johnson rods......

There are some chemical properties found in Rustolium Chrome that seem to make the metal of which is sprayed on to stronger. However, if you use too many coats, the metal may become brittle.

no no no, it won't work cause paint doesn't stick to uranium, the u joints are made of uranium, that's why they are called "U"-joints
