Here are a few links for ya. Troy is a local, he lives in Holiday. So you maybe able to get some help from him.

actually, Troy is no longer a local to Holiday, Hes now a local down here in Ephraim, he owns Big T's lube shop across from Wal-mart. His rig has evolved a lot since those pix, full width, one-ton diffs, ive had a chance to drive this rig and the dual cases are sweet. he is on this site as 94Rodeo, im sure you could pick his brain.

Well my Rodeo is SAS as well... No dual cases but I do have Tera Low 3.07.1 gears in tcase. As far as the dual cases go Troy has it, also Chad Hunter who lives in Highland was the first one to do it here in Utah. Go to pirate4x4 under Isuzu forum, search under user name Indyguy... Also check out under same name at planetisuzoo.com under drivetrain mods... It is involved and if your Rodeo won't have body lift, get ready to pound the floorboard in or cut and make new tranny and tcase tunnel.. Obviously you will need to fab new crosmember under 2nd case plus redo front one to clear new longer front driveshaft.. Then since you are cutting a big chunk off of the front output on first case you run into hot oil and oiling issues... Troy took some time to dial his in, last I seen him he had a serious leak, but I would supppouse that he has fixed it since.. Do your research and see if its worth it. Also as far as tire size goes I know of at least two guys who have blown tcase output shaft with 36" tires. I have been running 35's and so far so good, keep in mind I have Trutrac in back and open front... As of recent I have lined up a fool spool, so Trutrac might go to front.. Also thinking of going down to 33's as it will preserve my drivetrain a bit better than 35's, as those 35's make most wheeling I do a breeze... My truck weighs like 4800 pounds plus trail ready.. Hope this helps, if you need more info, feel free to ask and definetily check out websites I have listed... Adem

I think I missed something, but what is the common way to do dual cases in a Rodeo?

All the Rodeo's with dual cases that I've seen have used the Toyota R151 (or R150 with V6 to geardrive case adaper) that bolts to the Rodeo belhousing and use Toyota geardrive boxes. Finding a used R151 from the turbo trucks would be the best, but it is somewhat difficult/expensive to find one used. That would be the hardest part other than that the upgrade would be fairly cheap imo.

Well the way guys do it is, since manual tranny and tcase is integrated, you use second tcase from automatic rodeo or trooper as long as its not TOD case aka torque on demand.. Automatic tranny tcases are divorced. So you slip on auto tcase onto manual tranny and tcase output shaft as they mesh just right. You also build an aluminum/steel spacer/adapter. So basically manual tranny tcase male output fits into female auto tranny tcase input. Kind a rough explanation. I know. As far as the fellas using the R151F and toyo goodies, Rodeo bellhousing won't work, the guys that did it, they used custom bellhousing or one imported from Australia.. Not cheap but definetily a worthwhile setup... I know Marlin was detrimental to making those a success...
