I used the Lokar dipstick on my buggy, it has a rubber o-ring around the top which prevents any fluid from coming out.

I was thinking about a cork. Cut a slit in the center for the flat piece to slide through and cork it off...:)

what happens over time if the cork deteriorates due to vibration/impact/atf/oil/heat? Will cork pieces make trannies unhappy?

Locking dipstick. Stock GM part. I have one on my buggy, no drips from the toob. Could prolly get one from a junkyard too, but all three pieces (the dipstick, the tube, and grommet at the bottom) were like $30 from the dealer. Of those, the tube was the most spendy--so if you already have an appropriately-sized tube you'd just need the dipstick.

I got the locking dipstick after an incident but then rolled to the driver side and it came out the vent. Anyone know of a vent with a ball valve in it or a way to make it now pour out?

Would it be wrong to say stay right side up? Good luck with it. I hope one day that will be a problem I have to worry about.
Well, I would rather prevent a spill in the first place rather than try and clean up a mess.
