so me and my brother went out to California and did the Rubicon despite me not finishing my wagoneer and just took my runner instead. i was actually pretty happy about having the toyota out there cause the trail was very challenging from the run off and time of year. our plans were to go into rubicon springs camp and head back out. we stopped a little short and camped at buck island lake which was great. the weather was fantastic and trail was everything its been hyped up to be. i have a few good pics i'll post

I made it a little further than this but ripped out my drain plug and was hung up fixing my rig for a bit and was a little unmotivated to tare up my ride after that so i bypassed it. im not sure if this is even passable unless you are riding on 44s or have a buggy? if anyone here knows of people that make it through in mildly build crawlers i'd love to know

Some great pics, I really like the one where it looks like the boulder is sitting on the hood of your bro's truck.

My brother made it through with his stretched YJ on 37s. He has a video of it but I will have to check if he got any pictures. I still haven't been on that trail but need to go.

Edit: I just found one pic from his trip report last July.

Also I remember watching a video with John Bundrant driving this red 4runner through.

Your's looks like it could make it next time.

Great pics. I'm trying to schedule a family trip out there next year. Haven't been there since 98 and want to go back. The Little Sluice must have been easier then. I made it through in my XJ with 4" of lift and 32" tires. Did get a scratch on one of the rear quarter panels.

2 4wheelers with us and they had a bear of a time getting through! they have been through a few times and said this was the most challenging time so fare. they made it but it slow going for all of us. i have never used my 1st and 2nd gear so much in my life between obstackles. the hole thing was a rock crawl!

they have knocked big boulders off the side down into it and it is incredibly hard now. 99.9% of people bypass and im not used to bypassing things but it is so hard that everyone is ok with bypassing
