After two tough days on the Barrett Lake trail it was time to go to the Rubicon. We had a small group that we had rounded up on the internet. It ended up being a good group of people. The Rubicon took its toll on all of the vehicles, my CJ especially. The little Sluice took out my passenger side u-joint damaging my short shaft but we pieced it all together only because I also broke my long shaft on the drivers side. I made it through about 2/3 of the Con with three wheel drive. It was difficult at times, I really had to pick my lines. This was the first big trip with my Jeep since the rebuild by Ben Hank's and it was performing great until the axle issue. They are an older set of Sunray 9" with 60 outers and I am thinking the shafts need updating during the winter. Although we could have pieced together my Jeep we decided it was best to come back early and not do Fordyce Creek.
