Ruger 1287

Just bought this for my son. Its a Ruger 1287 22cal. I had the scope added but it comes with everything else. I told him if he passed his Hunters Safety I would get him a nice 22 for Christmas. What do you think, will he like it?
He will have this forever as I have had my Rossi Pump for 35 years.
