so all of a sudden I have taken up running! Its actually really fun. I'm going to run a half marathon in Moab in October. I've been running three to four miles a day for a week now, but tonight I ran 8 (holy crap) anyways my question is do any of you do this? If so any pointers?

I run daily (usually 5-6 days a week). I usually run 8-10 miles a day. I don't have any pointers besides some nice shoes and an iPod :p

After 14 year of competitive gymnastics and a year away from olympic training.....I have worked out enough!!! LOL
Plus my knees swell everytime I do hard impact, so if I work out its on an elyptical and a bike! Good luck with your marathon, I have always wanted to do one for breast cancer but I would be walking the whole time.

There's nothing quite like a "runners high" :)

Advise? 2 things: Eat right, and if your city is anything like Logan then avoid running anywhere near busy streets... Theirs too many a$$holes that through crap out the window at you :ugh:

I wish I could get into running. I get bored on a treadmill and I'd get shot if I ran anywhere near my house. I'm considering taking up mtn biking for some cardio....

I guess if I strap some crack on my back I would get into shape pretty quick around my hood.

i cant stand running on a treadmill, I have to run outside. Its really enjoyable after you build up some stamina. I just hope I can keep it up.

I run about 2 miles every other day and I do it as fsat as I can possibly go. Tonight I timed myself and ran a mile in 6:40 pushing a jogging stroller with 2 kids in it, the both of them together weigh 55 lbs. I can't stand just jogging, it gets boring for me. I did learn from someone that if you get a side ache to take your thumbs and put them on you pointer finger knuckle and squeeze really hard. It works like magic for me!
