I sail a 21 footer and 8 knots is all I can get but that seems pretty fast. Then I saw this. They are hitting up to 50 knots!

since i lived at the shore i got to play on many a ship.my friend and room mate used to build power boats that could do well over a 130.

but for everyday fun you have to try a Bobie Trifoiler.there are some videos down the bottom of the page.they can easily get up to 35+ mph which is just over 30 knots.when your but is only about 8" off the water its fast and they turn on a dime.
