samurai mods ?

hey guys i just got a nice 87 samurai im going to start building for my little brother in oregon for his first can and wanted opinions on some mods that you would all suggest starting with? I have $400 from him to start with and more cash in the next couple months. dont think I will be doing a 16v motorswap and will leave a motor swap if he wants one for him to do in his highschool mechanic class.

in the pics it has 1-1/2" ome springs.

Cut door hinges.
Get mirror brackets to take mirrors off doors and put them on hinges
Break loose all screws so you can fold the windshield down and replace them with bolts.
Buy the windshield fold down kit.
remove rocker plastic and grind off bracketry then paint
Carb tube thingamajig

Spend the money on some used t-case gears or a lock right for the rear diff.

This is for a high schooler so you gotta keep it simple....oh and the best mod you can do is move this post to tech...not chit-chat.

hes in tillamook oregon so very close to browns camp and a few other places to wheel in the tillamook forest. since he doesnt have emissions im thinking of doing a harley myside carb kit rather than screwing with the stock carb.
