The LT4 does not have an aluminum block.
LSx is all aluminum.

Not all LSx based motors are aluminum... The 4.8/5.3 is a LSx based motor, as well as the 5.7 and 6.0.

And the pedal computer. Love my drive by wire.

The newer versions didn't have a pedal computer. Not sure where they changed, but I know my 08 doesn't. But what's weird, is the older versions of the 4L60E used the PCM to control it, mine has a TCM.

But yeah, get the peddle computer and the harness that connects them. The newer one like mine had the harness built into the cab harness. John and Speartech can make them if you don't have one...;)

This is correct. I should have been more specific in saying that an LSx found in a Corvette has an aluminum block, as opposed to the LT1/LT4 which is iron.

Well, I can't remember where I read it but as you stated the LT5 was the only all Aluminum engine I can see along those lines at the time. Not much would be different other than weight.

FWIW, the Haynes manual page 2D-2 does state that:
"The V8 engine used in the 1998 and Later Camero and Firebirds displaces 346 cubic inches and is considered the new generation modular V8. These engines utilize aluminum blocks with eight cylinders arranged in a "v" shape at a 90-degree angle......."

While it is in print, I can't find anywhere else that a aluminum block was used on any engine in the Vette except the very rare LT5. I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read. :)

'98 is the first year the Camaro had an aluminum LS motor.
The 93-97 f-body had the LT1.
And all the C5 vettes we're aluminum LS motors
