I need pros and cons of running a front 4 link. The vehicle is a trail rig only that will only see speeds only from the trailer to the trail. Dana 70 front on a cj5 with some stretch in the front. Air shock suspension.
Thanks ahead of time.

Funny, as I was looking over new posts, I was sketching out some rough 4link designs m'self... heheh

Pros:

Articulation
responsiveness of the shocks/coils

Cons:

Clearance
Cost
Math

The hardest part is getting everything to fit. Unless everything is from scratch, you will undoubtedly make some compromises with link length and placement if you go triagulated, especially if you have a v8.

With the axle out in front some the clearance is not too bad. Cost, alittle more DOM and two more heim joints... I think that is okay.
math? We don't need no stinkin math!
Math is my next question.... same as the back?

The biggest gain I have had in my buggy over my leaf sprung toyota is the ride quality. But it also flexes great.

I run a parallel 4 link in the front of my YJ. Fitting it was a PITA. My uppers and lowers are the same length(35") and have the same seperation at the axle and the frame.... hence parallel. My track bar runs driver side frame to pass side axle right in front of the harmonic balancer. Ive run my YJ wide open down I70 without any issues. Keep your lower links as parallel to the ground as possible and make sure your track bar is parallel and equal length with your drag link.

This has always been my question as well (and still unanswered in this post).

I have all the math done for my rear dual triagulated design, but haven't found any info on how to design a front 4 link design.
