School me up on the Wii

I was thinking of getting one of these for my wife. She saw it in a game store over the weekend and played a short demo of Zelda, which she said is her all time favorite game.

The Wii seems pretty cool and at a decent price. I think the controllers are the coolest thing about it. Granted the graphics aren't as good as the 360 or the PS3, but its not as spendy either.

Do any of you have opinions on the Wii?

Buy a large sheet of plexiglass and place it in front your TV/entertainment center. Remove all glass fixtures/ceiling fans/ tables in the area. Now you can play with your Wii Wii.

My brother has one and I have a xbox 360. I played with it after the super bowl graphics aren't as good but it is really a blast to play. We played madden football, marvel ulimate alliance and then the wii sports games: baseball, bowling, boxing, golf. I like my 360 but if I would have played the wii before I got the 360 I would have probably bought a wii due to the play experiance, and price. My wife even liked it and she is not a video game fan! I thought the madden and marvel games on the wii were more entertaining than on my 360. But again this is just me opinion and it is only based on the limited time and game play of a couple of hours. Hope this helps

The graphics are not the best in the industry, but I've had more fun playing the Wii than any other system. If I were going to by a console it would be the Wii.

Good to know guys. I think I'll pick this up for her B'day next month.

I would have bought it at the store last weekend, but then she said she didn't think she would use it much since we have a baby on the way.

I think that might have been guilt talking, thinking baby supplies vs. Wii.

Even if she ends up not using it much I think I know someone who will!

So did you end of getting this? What did you think? My girl and I think it would be pretty fun with those cool controlers. But there are only a few games that look really cool to me, not that the others would not be fun, but they just looked kiddish. I am choosing between the 360 and the Wii

Yeah I like those games the best. I was looking at one today... something like gear of war about locust aliens exterminating humanity and you had to stop them. Sounded pretty bad ass. They also just had some pretty cool skate game that came out. But those controlers on the Wii are just pretty cool.

I have one for the wife and kids. Makes for great entertainment and a good therapy resource for Angie. We also have several XBOX 360's (imagine that) for HALO 3. Everyone loves the Wii, it's a blast to play. Plus you can get Guitar Hero for the Wii also.

I guess I better finish Halo 1, then put Halo 2 in and play that. Damn I feel old!
