Hey hope this is the right area to do this. I have a 75 Scout II with (some) 4speed. I'd like to put an automatic transmission in but dont know which one will bolt up. I have the 304 and a dana 20 transfer case. or if there is a better way to go? If there isn't an automatic what manual bolts up and has a granny gear? thanks for any info.

you will need a 727 tourque flight out of a international and the t-case should have a texas style bolt pattern on the back of trans. I would go auto trans 727 is a great trans cheap to rebuild and stout. good luck

I did the same conversion on my Scout with great results. Just make sure you find a torquflight out of a Scout and not a dodge. Bolt patterns are different even though all the internals are interchangable

If you do decide to go with a granny gear manual you can get a t-19 out of a scout that will bolt up. Be careful because there is a 4.0 1st gear close ratio and the 6.ish 1st gear wide ratio. I would go the auto personally if your going to wheel it. There is a also a low gear kit for your t-case to get it down to 3.15 instead of the stock 2.0.
