Dropping the price... Was asking $400. Going to put it back on KSL this weekend at $375, but in the interest of finding a good home for it, I'll go $365 for any RME'er :). That still includes a box of Hornay ammo and the three DVD's.

Marlin 17VS, .17 HMR with Bausch and Lomb 5-15x50 scope in BKL rings. Gray laminated stock, stainless steel barrel and action.

Entire rifle and scope are in perfect, as new, immaculate condition. Only about 100 rounds fired, very accurate, fun little rifle.

This is very tempting. I've really wanted to get a varmit gun. Since you have a little bit of experience :p is there enough behind a 17hmr to take down a coyote? What kind of range is this gun good for? Thanks

I hit one in the spine with my .17 @211 yards and killed it in its tracks. (mostly luck)

This is a nice setup. Looks like you are figuring out that camera also:)

Honestly, although thousands of coyotes have been killed cleanly with the .17 HMR and it certainly has sufficient energy for the task with careful bullet placement, I've never been comfortable recommending the HMR for coyote.

With good conditions (no wind...) this particular rifle is accurate enough to whack prairie dogs cleanly and consistently out to about 200 yards. Although it may maintain accuracy beyond that range, it's starting to run out of energy pretty quickly by then, so I'd say that's about the limits of range for it on small varmints. A coyote... Well, like I said, I don't really recommend it, but I'd keep my shots under 100 yards but more importantly within a distance that I was absolutely confident of placing my bullet cleanly through the heart and lungs.

Cool, that's kind of what I suspected on ranges and the effectiveness on coyotes. Let me see what I can talk the boss in to :)

That is one SWEET looking .17hmr. I use to have a mossberg .17 hmr with a bipod, scope, and .22 muzzle break on it and loved the round. Great gun with lots of things to kill with it here.

Deal sweetener

Trying to hopefully sweeten the pot a little bit here.

I'm going to include a box of ammo and three new, unopened varmint hunting DVD's with the rifle.

BTW... Before someone says anything, I know that's not the ammo that goes with the rifle pictured above :D.

Thanks for looking!
