the fact they're calling them 'FJ' anything is kinda lame... it's kinda like Dodge boasting the HEMI's big return, into the car world... when in fact it never left... but in toyota's case, these vehicles don't carry an 'F' motor... so it's on a higher level of lame.. :(

am i just misinformed?

Though the model number of every Land Cruiser (note the FJ Cruiser is NOT a Land Cruiser) reflects the motor, they also have "street names" ie. Prado, Troopy, Trayback, Pig, etc. The FJ25, BJ44, FZJ80, UZJ100, etc are all Land Cruisers, with F, 3B, 1FZFE, etc motors. The actual FJC call is a GSJ15 as I recall... Though I don't think the motor is a GSJ??? I could be wrong?

Though they have roots from an actual Land Cruiser (the non-US Prado), they have more in common with a 4Runner/Tacoma then they do and actual Land Cruiser. While some will argue they are a Land Cruiser... its moot... every other Land Cruiser in history has some version of this:

Hey, automotive sales are all about the marketing. If they can get one person to believe the hype, that person will spread the word. Pretty soon, you've got all kinds of people selling the car for them.

I think it looks pretty cool. Would I buy one....probably not, but I'm either a full size tow rig, or a small economy utility vehicle (not necessarily an SUV) with great gas mileage kind of guy
