shock recommendation

OK, I have a friend who is looking for some shocks.

He has 2003 chevy half ton z71. No lift, he doesn't offroad it, but he does tow with it.

What do you guys recommend?

(yes, I called bear, but he is off today)

I'd like some Bilstein's for my truck. I really like them on my 4runner, and on other people's trucks that have them.

That chevy should have bilstiens on it as part of the Z71 package. Shocks do not support weight(unless you get the old school overload shocks). Some shocks have different valving that may give a slighlty harsher ride. I would stay with a quality replacement shock Bilstiens, Monroe,etc. Not a need for a high end shock in my mind.
