i tuned in maybe 5 seconds before take off... pretty cool

That was very cool. 3900 MPH

And watching live streaming from a camera mounted on the outside of the shuttle. That is cool too.

Wish I noticed earlier to give you more of a heads up. That was the first nighttime launch since 2006.

A few minutes into launch they said they were traveling 3900 MPH. But orbit speed is 17500 MPH!

I got to see a real shuttle launch when I Was in florida back in the day! It was truley amazing!

A night shuttle launch is probably the only thing that would ever get me on the East coast. Wish I had seen this.

I've seen plenty of landings at Edwards, even the landing at White Sands. But have never ever seen a launch.
