I have always wondered how the heat created by an engine could be captured to be made into more power.

and just so people don't get confused it doesn't just run on water.it runs on gas but uses the two extra strokes as a steam engine.

The beauty of the design is the utilization of the heat produced during the combustion process to flash the injected water to steam, producing power while simultaneously cooling the engine. It gets power from water while also eliminating the need for a radiator, water pump, hoses, coolant, etc. Brilliant!

I wonder what kind of bizarre metals the cylinder and piston will have to be constructed of to take that kind of rapid heating and cooling...or if the current alloys will handle that just fine?!?

actually would it even really build heat ? one or two cycles is not enough to bring your standard engine up to operating temperature. so how would it get all that hot if one cycle is the gas combustion and the next being the quenching cycle?

Here is a wikipedia article on this stuff...it is rife with obstacles to overcome but would drastically increase the ridiculously low efficiency of the internal combustion engine. It is interesting to note that if designed correctly it would eliminate the need for a cooling system (radiator and water jackets) in the engine. This thing is just screaming ceramic engine block technology to me!
