We hung out with Joe Bacal who races the Lexus LX570 down in Baja for the 500. That lexus drivetrain is an awesome setup and it sounds WICKED. Once you get that thing finished drop him a line, he runs the only Lexus offroad racing truck in the world, you might get some interesting press. Whomever you got that motor from in Phoenix might know him.

The 200 Series Land Cruiser (LX570) runs the 5.7l V8, a serious powerhouse. That said a 4.0L V8 in such a small buggy will also be a serious powerhouse

yes that 5.7 is an amazing motor! and that baja lexus is so cool! i may just have to call him although i doubt someone like that would care about a little back yard build ;) I am just building this to have fun anyway.

so here is what my night is consisting of, yes that is the wiring schematic. i am sorting through it because the previous owner of the motor had the harness custom "altered " by a guy to be plug and play in a 96 4runner

ok not much progress, i have been really busy starting my new business and moving into my new shop. so the buggy has been put on hold for a little. I am also leaving for Florida for 10 days. but after that it is crunch time!! It is too HOT here in St. George to go wheeling. Our season down here is the fall-winter. "so i have been told"

Here are a little pics, I have been sorting through the wiring harness...:mad2::mad2: it was supposed to be built by a "professional" out of California. after hours of tracing wires and ECU pin outs. i decided to rip the loom off and redo the entire thing my self. While peeling the loom off i found my worst nightmare. Different color wires crimped to another color, then just electrical taped over. so i called the guy that made the harness and had a few words with him, he assured me it was fine and would work.. I said yeah sure it will work, but it is not the right way to do things. There are two ways to do things, One: it will work Two: the right way!!!

Anyway now for some pics, I have the wiring all done BUT NOT CLEANED UP and i also test fit the engine. lets just say its as tight as a virgin on prom night... can i say that here?

I'm liking the clean workspace too. That makes it nice. Keep the updates coming no matter how small.
