btw, i've searched and searched and have yet to find a photo of the little rig when Aaron wheeled it. I saw a few pictures of it on the wall last time I was at his place, but I can't find any online. I'm sure someone on here has some photos archived away from old UROC's.

Do we really have to wait until the 25th to see anymore progress? I haven't been this excited to watch a build for quite some time!

I suppose I should start paying attention to this for the engine information. :D

I think I've got some pics of that when Aaron had it, too. I'll have to dig out the disc.

About 8:00 pm last night I arrived in town from SLC. Driving over to my shop to meet the guy who was delivering my motor for me all the way from phoenix! I was so exited the whole way down I probably was driving faster than I should have. But after a month of waiting I was finally hooking the cherry picker up to my motor and unloading it out of his truck.
This motor is beautiful; the guy had really gone through everything and had taken his time and money to build this thing right. Once hooked up and raised in the air, I pulled the cherry picker away from the truck; and lowered the motor a bit. Pushing this thing around my shop I was very surprised at how light it was! Seeing this motor in its own form as opposed to being in a car gave me a lot of hope that this will actually fit, it is actually tiny for a V8. But then again it is only a 4.0ltr.

The plan this week is to get the front of the tranny disassembled and put back together with the Lexus tranny parts. I will be replacing the OD planetary gear set, oil pump, input shaft, and bell housing. Then I will mate the tranny to the motor and do a test fit in the buggy.
I am going to be super busy this week, I am taking up residence in a new shop, the shop I am in now, while very nice and very large is for my work I do every day and I want to keep work and play as separate as possible. Also this shop will be home to my new company. I can’t reveille anything about it yet but its primary focus will be on electrical accessories and vital wiring solutions for off-road vehicles. :)

here are a few pics I took last night. I willbe doing some work tonight and will also take a ton more.

I was thinking that was originally a rear engine, but now that you posted those I'm pretty sure I had a different buggy in mind. That one was a front-engine, turbo'd 4cylinder, is what I'm thinking now.

We hung out with Joe Bacal who races the Lexus LX570 down in Baja for the 500. That lexus drivetrain is an awesome setup and it sounds WICKED. Once you get that thing finished drop him a line, he runs the only Lexus offroad racing truck in the world, you might get some interesting press. Whomever you got that motor from in Phoenix might know him.
