Small JK lifts

Okay I searched and searched and I could not find this topic.

I'm looking to throw a small lift (2.5 in) on the new JK after dragging my belly all over Moab last week. I was dead set on buying a 2.5in Teraflex kit, with the intention of adding the flex arms or a long arm kit at a later date.

However I was recently told by another member that the 2.5in Teraflex springs ride rather harsh.

So the question is, who else is running a small lift and what do you like/dislike about it?

Most of all the JK build threads i'm following are running 4in+ of lift, so i'm hoping for some insight on the smaller ones.

My intentions are to run no bigger than 35's, and get my belly up a little bit so I don't scrape (as much), I plan on throwing some good skids across the bottom.

I run the Tera short arm (3 1/2") kit. It rides as well or better than it did stock, I can't imagine the 2 1/2" kit being any different. Also, I wouldn't waste the money on a long arm kit, especially with 2 1/2" inces of lift.

Why no long arm with the 2.5? Even though it's a smaller lift wouldn't it allow more articulation?

Go Tera. Contact skippy on here. Or mesha. They can get y a sweet deal on Teraflex parts.

For sure, i've been going through Davy for various other part, I actually told him to order me the 2.5 lift prior to hearing this news. But I think he must be out of town, haven't heard from him in a few days

Josh, you're welcome to come out and take a spin in my rig (3" Tera lift) before purchasing.

Thanks Marc, I'll keep you in mind, Eric (frieed) has the 2.5 and offered me the same, being the lift I will end up with this will probably be the better approach

That being said

The member reporting the harsh ride also has Tera shocks. Anyone else have input on them? I was planning to just run the extensions on my factory Rubi shocks until I can afford a nice set of Fox shocks

Not worth the added cost, the JK is pretty damn flexy in stock form.

I will agree with that, I was very impressed on it's first run out.

This was a plan waaaaay down the road. I'm still considering a set of the short arms, just for the add flex of the joint, and to get the geometry back to stock, even though it will be a slight change since it's only 2.5in. Even that is on the back burner though, I figure i'll beat up on the stock arms for a bit

Correct, Davy is playing in the dirt somewhere in S/E Utah.

Assuming he is with Ryan they are running Rusty Nail or at least were a couple hours ago.

I do have my coil spacers and my shock extensions coming off the Jeep right now, the Jeep is at Skippy's place in Tooele. Hit me up with a PM if you are interested at all.

My dad is having the same big decision right now, he has a new aniversary Rubicon on order and I can't talk him into cutting it up.

I have spoken with Tera and they highly recomend the kit they build for Mopar and you actually get alot of bang for your $$$$.

The kit is very complete with Fox remote resevoirs and speed bumps with limit straps etc. Check out this link to the Mopar Kit http://www.moparsupercenter.com/3-lift-kit-fox-racing-shox-2007-12-jk-2door-4door200712324.html
