Smithfield Ponds 1,2.....4?

How many ponds? 3 I think. Maybe a forth that dried out.

Anyway nice day trip. Even though the valley was filled with forest fire smoke, the top was fairly clear.

Made it all the way to the end of the trail.

This is coming back up the switch backs at the end.



Pond 3? The best looking one

Speaking to a couple locals from Morgan that have lived here for 50 plus years...they don't call them Smithfield Ponds. Can't for the life of me remember the name my friend said though.

I'm just using local lingo. I'm not a native Utahian. Being from Montana and Wyoming, I would call them mud puddles. LOL. But still pretty

Ive head them called that and thats how ive known them. Google maps calls them smith creek lakes,

so what is then proper name?

Smith Creek Lakes. I think this thread is actually the first time I've ever heard them called Smithfield. Smith Creek Lakes is the actual name, we have always called them Smith Ponds.

Smith Creek. The fourth one usually only has water in it during the run off. They are fun to camp near if your in Davis Co and want a quick place to go for an overnighter.
