snapping bolts

I have d30 axle (86 CJ 7) and keep snapping the bolts on the hubs. Up graded to GRADE "8" bolt. everytime I tear down for P.M. work I tighten back down (hand tight + some) and it splits in half. Checked proper bolt lenghts not bottoming out, is it possible that there is that much stress to them?

It's a 30 thing.... Locktight some studs in there, and you'll never have another problem.

When I bought my 84 the 5 bolt hubs proved to be the first weak link. I broke them several times before changing over to pre 81 6 bolt hubs. The six bolt style never broke in the more than 10 years I ran them before swapping out the front end.

hell why not switch to a 60, its only slightly more then the stud kit

Loctite is way cheaper than studs OR a 60.

Does Mepco carry them or is it ordered from a catalog
