Well the snow is finally here! My brother, his girlfriend and I went for a ride today up Hull Valley/Mink Creek in So. Idaho. Good times for sure! I LOVE the MTR's in the snow I just wish I had more than 60hp to push them :-\

Rot Box, looks fun. When were you up there? I went up last week and there was only about 1/2 the snow. Better enjoy before it's closed off to sleds only.

That Forest Lake Snow trip was one of the best ever Kurt. I was surprised how far up you made it and how deep that snow was.

We figured everyone would catch up with us as many times as we were stuck and winching. We made it to the very last climb before the lake and there was just no more fighting it.

Can the swell be ran in the winter/ how is it in the snow? Looks like fun that is something I would like to do.

Absolutely, in the Devils Racetrack pic we had just come off of the actual Racetrack, we then went up and over Fix-it-Pass. In fact the majority of my Swell trips have been in the winter. Standard caveats, its very cold, like overnight lows can hover around zero, a little sun can warm up the roads and turn that snow into disgusting mud, making travel and camping a messy experience. Lastly some trails can be downright scary with ice and snow in the wrong situations, the climb out of Eagle Canyon for example is a narrow shelf road.

If time allows its best explored in the warmer months, as the trails are rather tame the majority of the 'experience' is checking out the geology and history, hiking, slot canyons, mines, old cabins, Native American sites. As you can imaging not fun activities when the snow is blowing sideways and its 10 degrees out :D

N8RB8R, The swell is really fun in the winter, and in the snow if you're lucky enough to experience it  I was there in January one year and there were only patches here and there...

Nothing too serious, but the dually ended up sunk to the frame.
