So who all attempted this yesterday?

I went up at about 9 am with my daughter and got within about 2 miles from the top before breaking through. We busted out the shovels and spent 3 hours trying to get back on the hard pack. Thoughout the morning, a bunch of guys on snowmobiles and quads came by and either ignored us or just shook their heads in disapproval :p .

One kind soul on a snowmobile stopped to help. While turning around he got hella-stuck in the deep powder on the side of the road. I bet we looked hilarious trying to push/run behind the sled in waist-deep powder. Anyway, he actually tried to strap me out even when I insisted that it would snap parts off of his ride. He tried with no success and with, thankfully, no broken parts. I told him that everything should be ok since a bunch of guys from RME should be coming by really soon and they would rescue me

He stayed to help me dig some more. At that point other snowmobilers and quads showed up. The quad guys said there were a lot more trucks stuck further down the trail (my rescuers :hickey: ). One quad had a 2500 lb winch. He hooked it up to the back and everyone else pushed from the front and ta-da! we were out! :). Thanks so much to those guys even though they probably won't read this.

On the way down I found "Rusted" and sorry, I forgot the other guy's screen name. We worked our way down the mountain while trying to avoid the sides of the road. Later we came across a full-size chevy 4X4 up to his frame in powder. We strapped him out, put some lug nuts on his rear wheel (he only had 2 on that wheel :ugh: ) and then went and goofed off at the B.

It was a great time!

I have pics but no program to resize them :( . I'll figure it out and put them up soon.

Hey Rusted and friends, please post your pics. Nice meeting you guys!

John

Here is the photos that 00buck took. We had the CJ stuck for probably over an hour, but did not think to take photos. The center of the road is packed pretty well, and easy going, but get a little off to the side, and it is dig out time.

RJMAX& Rusted, Thanks for all the pullouts on Saturday. That was some good action. I can't believe that guy in the chevy only had 2 lug nuts on one wheel.

XTUTAH, I am ready to trade in the CJ for some Xterra action. That thing did great in the snow.

Hey where is the 'B' ?
If anyone want to take the time to give me directions, I'd be so greatful. it sounds like you had fun up there!

In Bountiful. Go to the 400 N. exit in Bountiful and head east. You should see the "B" up on the mountain. Follow 400 N. up through a bunch of lights and you will come to a stop sign. Turn left and wind around and you should run into a parking lot just below the "B". That is where the trails start.

Looks like fun, if you like shoveling snow. I think that is why they invented snowmobiles.

"B" is the cement above Bountiful. Head up from 4th North on Bountiful and your as goos as there.
