So I just got home and.....

Went out the back door to head out to the garage and start the ol bob job on the runner when something just did'nt look right and there was something new in the back yard hiding under the picnic table and the 6month ol pup was hootin and haulin a$$ round the yard.I could'nt picture what it was until I got closer and seen feather's,so I took the dog in the house and went back out.At first I thought it was an eagle or a hawk or somethin until I seen it's face,good god It was ugly I called the local warden and ended up putting him/her in my cat carrier and transported it out to mjb animal clinic since they deal with helping bird's out until they get better....I think the pup roughed it up a little.Anyway's here's a couple pics.

That things MEAN looking!! It's a vulture, huh. Was it injured or something, that's strange it was just hanging out in the back yard. Or was it drooling while looking at the puppy.

I think it was injured,it just would'nt get up and stand on it's own,it just sat there and looked at me blinking it's eye's,it was quite strange actually.
I even held it,looked at it's leg's,wing's,belly and the guy did'nt even try to get me beside's poopin on my arm.The claw's and beak on this bird was something else they looked like they could tear right into ya.I'm going to call the vet and see what's up with the bird tomarrow.

looks like a turkey vulture, only other time i have seen those is out to little sahara and out towards dugway, how cool is that.

keep us posted and let us know what they are actually called, I was told turkey vulture, but who really knows.

Hey Greg, remember when we were down south of martinsville and almost ran over those three vultures munching on roadkill? That scared the crap out of me, it is tatooed in my brain!!

Yeah, I actually was telling my wife that story last week! If you hadn't stomped on the brakes, I'm sure we'd have taken them out... which would have very been ironic, vulture roadkill.
