So I went boating and dunked my phone Saturday

I bought one of those skinny little razr phones, went boating yesterday and left it in my pocket, jumped in the watter to push the boat and soaked it.

So....the funny thing is it totally killed it. Now two days later I hook up the power and it fires right up, now it actually works better and faster than it did before. Menu speed is probably doubled!

Thats good! I once left my Motorola out for 4 days in the winter, got 8inches of snow. I dried it out and it popped right back on!

it really is. These Razrs are not very fast with their menu speed and it was starting to get slower. My co-worker got a new one last week so we timed them together and mine took four seconds to switch to the "contacts" menu. His took just over one. Now that my phone got wet it's back to the same speed as his. ??? i don't know, maybe it erased the memory or something?

They almost always work fine after drying out. As for faster......

I soaked my nokia about a month ago and it was never the same, I belive the mic was shot after that cause no one could ever hear me and then it started to randomly shut off on me so I broke down and bought a new phone.

Keep an eye on it. The last electrical component I dropped in the lake was flash unit for a camera. Dried it out, it worked great for a while, then rusted. Turned into a pile of doo.

My friend chucked his old startac into the pool. After drying out it worked fine for about a week until it took a dump.

As for the Razor, I bought one of the first ones Verizon put out. They have a big firm waer update that takes about 15 min at the store that speeds things up quite a bit.

I put my phone on my winch bumper and accidentally knocked it into the drain bucket full of antifreeze. After a few days, everything worked except the microphone. I had to use the hands free setup until I could replace the phone.

it easily could have forced it to update it's software (they are supposed to do this on their own, but rarely do). Yours may have had an old firmware or soem corrupt files and by soaking it, it did something making it download an update??? Different versions of the sofware are deffinitely faster then others (especially with the Razor).

My Motorolla v60 was:
dropped out of a car going 20mph
kicked
thrown across rooms (no, not theft deterrant)
dropped in a stream
left in the snow overnight
played with by a 1 year old child for an hour
and retrieved by my dog . . .

Still works great
