Vans left me disappointed
Bought a bourbon.
Love (?) the 6.2, love the bourbon
Still miss my Fj, and lust for another

Lost the 700r4.

Now I have a great 6.2, and a bad trans.

Has anyone ever done a 6.2 powered fj40/55/60?

Is that a half crocked idea?

Lighter rig, more efficient use of the 6.2's power, still has bio-diesel capabilities, and 20 mpg.

Or, is it too heavy for the Toyota frame......?
Swap the tank, and the simple electronics, glow plug relay, water in fuel indicator, should be more straight forward than a TBI swap.

Could go with a Getrag (git rag as a local car lot callls it) 5 spd, and amplify the efficiency of the dismal, abnd keep the low end grunt.

I dunno, y'all know a lot, I am just a dumb concrete guy......

Any thoughts?

Or rebuild the 700? They can be done to support fairly impressive HP/torque figures nowadays somewhat reasonably.

Actually hada 350 offered to me today, so shorterm there
Had an offer to rebuild mine for a reasonbable amount, slightly warmed up so longer term solution there.

And I will have to look at this v8J6.2L Idea
