My son is 15 and working toward starting his project. He was thinking of replacing the signs that mark the pony express route. They have all been stolen for scrap. He was thinking of a wooden sign or even steel.
What do you all think? Where should he start? Is that state or BLM land? Does anyone have any contact information?

Idaho marked sections of the Oregon Trail with slender, 4 foot tall, concrete monoliths. They look to be installed 30 years ago or more. People don't steal or knock these down.
