That is a beautiful area to explore. There is an old hotel/cabins/campground not too far up the canyon in a town named Shoupe. I've been about 20 miles in past there where the road splits off from the river and this trail begins.

I spent every spring break growing up around Shoupe fishing for steelhead, neat area for sure.
