spidertrax axle questions

Does anyone run the spidertrax axle? How durable are they? What is the max tire size you would run with a healthy motor? Will they stand up to a 496 ci Chevy? Are they as good as everyone says? Do you have any experience with them?

Sorry for all the questions I am just thinking about them. I wanted to know if I should look into them over my 60, 14 bolt. Thanks in advance.

I'd give JRATOffroad's Sixty9 axle a try. It's like a spidertrax fabbed housing but uses Dana 60 gears and axleshafts, but has a drop out third member like the Ford 9".

They aren't completed yet, I would look at a built 60 for the front and whatever rear you were looking at . If ring gear strength look not to front 70 and 80's like the kodiak etc axles or rockwell. I know spidertrax axles are sweet, just not worth the coin in my opinion

They're sweet but there's no way in hell you can make a reasonable case for getting some if you've already got a set of 1-tons and a BUDGET.

The Sixty9 will be a much more reasonable option, still spendy though.

Yeah, I have a set of built 1 tons now I was just wondering if they were better than what I already have. There is a lot of hype about them being so much better than what I already have. I was just wondering if they were really all that or not.

Although the redesigned sixty9s aren't quite done yet, they should be on the market any day now.

Dan at RuffStuff Specialties has been making the fabricated housings for quite a while now, so you could at least pick up the housing and knuckles and stuff and get building the housing.

JRatOffroad and Branik Motorsports have been working very diligently and have finally got the design finished and have had a few of the castings back from the foundry, have been machined and have been assembled and have been getting good gear mesh patterns, so once they get a few out there for testing they should be out for anyone to buy. I have a feeling they are going to sell like crazy.

Quote from Dan's site about the 60 housings:

"We are happy to be able to make these in large enough quantities to keep the price within reason and since we now have 5 welders on staff we will be able to keep them busy....However, tey will not be available until the third member begins production, its coming!"

Even the miss spelling is his :D
I have wanted to pick these up too, but looks like we will need to wait a little longer.
