Well since i couldn't find any YJ springs I desided to just do a SPOA with my stock samurai springs, Where's the cheapest place to find The kit to do this lift. I Only want to spend around $200 for the kit I know a couple of the guys in the RME have shops so maybe they could help me out. I'm trying to get everything done by The week before Easter. hope some one can help I already looked. Ata couple of local places they want to much. I already have the shocks.

ok....200$ aint gonna happen....

YOU NEED the rocky road outfitters wrap-around spring perches, they are an absolute necessity for the fragile stock zuk axles...I think they are about 80$ for a set of 4. this mod can be done with regular perches but I ruined an axle housing using regular perches.

so you have 120$ left.....

you need brake lines, 30$ each.....you are at your 200$ mark now.

you also need driveline spacers or your drivelines will wobble like you can't imagine, you need AT LEAST one for the rear line and they are about 30$ last time I checked.

you will also need some new steering because your tie-rod will contact your spring pack and bind your steering. Z-links are the norm on Zuks and can be had retail for about 100$

you can get away with stock shocks for now although they limit travel but that is a future upgrade that you can take care of when you get some more cash.

you are at about 330$ if you are shopping bargain basement and you don't have anything on yet. You are going to need to get it installed if you don't have a welder and some decent hand tools. I can do it for you for about 150$ if you bring it to me and help me put everything together. I reccomend doing it yourself because this is a DIY sport and you NEED to know your vehicle. Get a someone to weld the perches on and turn all the wrenches yourself....just remember to bleed the brakes :)

I agree with spence. You need the basics. I can help too if needed. I have done all on my zuk. Well except the gears setup. I too recommend that you get to know your zuk. It does help.

it is literaly impossible to do a proper spring over for 200$.

DO NOT USE SPRING PERCHES THAT DON'T WRAP AROUND!!!

I will tell you this once and tell you that it is from my personal experience and the experience of dozens of other zuk owners. You will damage your housing if you don't use wrap around perches because the metal is so thin it cannot take the forces associated with a spring over. If you do nothing else, USE wrap around perches.

The reason that nobody sells them but rocky-road is because it is a patented design and lawsuits have been issued in the past. Everyone else is forced to sell you an inadequate perch.

Samurais are cheap to buy and reasonably cheap to build but you have to know when to spend the extra money to protect your investment.

swing on over to rocky-road and see what kind of "Locals" deal they wanna swing. I am sure Glenn has some experimental stuff he could use on you.

you do realize that Rocky Road Outfitters is in Heber....right......over by the airport in the industrial division.....

they can be dicks that way but they do sell quality parts....my only beef with them is that they rarely stock the parts I need when I need them......or when anyone else needs them for that matter. they need a lesson or 2 in customer service. If they paid me I would move up there and take over the day to day ops and get that ship shaped up.

if nothing more just get the 5.5" perches from them, they are quality stuff. I like spidertrax for most everything else....and trailtough....and roadlessgear....you know...just about everyone is represented on my zuk....

RRO perches
junkyard special brake lines
Trailtough t-case cradle
Roadlessgear bearings on the rear axles
trailtough front diff (used)
calmini t-case gears (currently for sale for cheaper than you can believe if you are interested)

I spread it around because everyone makes good stuff. trailtough has by far the best customer service though.
