Typically you'll have a pump or a main shutoff valve from your source, from there it goes to sprinkler valves dividing up each zone. It sounds to me like the one that stays on has either a stuck valve or it's been manually been turned on. On my valves there is a little lever so I can turn it on manually, I've also seen where you turn the solenoid to turn it on manually. The only other reason other than a stuck valve/manually turned on would be your timer has power to that valve all the time which would be strange.

Here's an example of what I got, you can see the little lever by the solenoid to turn it off/on manually.

You might have a couple boxes that hold valves spread throughout your yard, I've typically seen a box in the front and one in the back.

I bet it it's the valve diaphram. Open the valve up and check to see if it's ripped or has some thing stuck under the diaphram keeping it from sealing off. I am the rep. for Orbit Irrigation so I see this king of thing happen alot. I had the same thing happen earlier this spring when I turned my water on. Pm me if you need some more help.

I put myself through college installing sprinkler systems. Turn your main off, take the top off of the valve that stays on and clean it up. Becareful to keep track of any o-rings that may be in there. Some of the older valves have some o-rings where some of the new ones usually only have one where the solenoid screws in. Put it back together and give it a try.
