Uh.... Is that going to hold up? Styrofoam with concrete over it? Man I hope this isn't a waste of $600... :ugh:

The nice thing about styrofoam is that it has a lot of surface area to support a lot of weight.

That's simply amazing that they can stack some styrofoam, spray it w/ concrete and call it a course. I wonder how long UROC is planning on leaving this venue up? Obviously thru SEMA, but what about after that? Is it a temp. course or more permanant?

It's going to be torn down after. No remains. (I'm figuring that's why there's plastic under it too, make it easier to clean up)

I think there are a lot of people that have a lot more than $600 riding on this. I'd bet its going to work. C'mon bruther, keep the faith.

where is the course going to be at and can local guys use it or is it for competition only ?
It's at the convention center. I'm sure the course will be competition only. It's only going to be up for a very short period of time, and I doubt there will be much oportunity for recreational use. I bet the convention center will have pretty tight security on it, for insurance reasons.

The event will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. The ticket price is usually $15 or $20. It'll be a great show, garaunteed. If you've never been to a rock crawling event you really should see it while it's in town. Skip Friday though, cuz I'll only be competing Saturday and Sunday. :D
