Starting a Toyota 22re that has been sitting for a couple of years any idea the best way to go around doing that? No one get smart with me and say turn the key:) Thanks for the help. I need some info before tomorrow, and I am currently searching for help online.

pull the plugs and pour oil into each cylinder, just to keep the rings from scoring the cylinder walls.

Then I'd try turning it at the crank (with a wrench) to get the pistons moving and lubed up with your oil.

I'd also make sure you have really good gas in there, or a fuel stabilizer/winterizer thing. That would suck to pump bad gas throughout your engine.

oil in cylinders hand crank, check the oil in the pan make sure it doesnt look like there is foreign stuff in there, check to see if the coolant is clean, check spark plugs make sure they are clean if not replace them, air filter and for sure give it new gas, engines that sit dont like old gas and even a couple year old gas can be bad, other than that fire it up!

My 22RE might be the only one, but if it's sat for a while it needs the oil pump primed in addition to the above. I just pull the filter, use a syringe to squirt a few ounces of oil down the passageway, and it's good to go.
