Ok so I found out that a few things on my last trip. My tie rod end is bad but, that's not the worst part. Upon inspection i found that a) the bolt wobbles in the hole and b) I can't get the nut off, the whole things just spins. I ordered a new tie rod end from currie do to having the correct lync. Any ideas for my problems. Thanks

Probably going to need an impact wrench if there is nothing on the stud for you to hold it in place while you loosen the nut.

Often times I use a prybar to put some pressure on the rod-end (press it tighter into the tapered hole) to stop it from spinning while you take the nut off. An impact will help as well.

...or a floor jack, lifting on the tie rod end to keep the taper tight.

If it is at the pitman arm, you can replace the arm easy enough... If it is at the steering knuckle, you can replace the knuckle (don't do this unless you have a freebie knuckle...) or you can drill out the hole and use a tapered insert to repair the wallowed-out hole.

If the hole needs to be drilled out and an insert used we can take care of it at my place.

I'll definitely take you up on this. The insert in the above link states welding, are you capable of that? I'll be ordering this tomorrow unless someone knows where I can get a insert local

If your gonna have a jeep & continue to "use" it---my suggestion would be to get yourself a welding machine like you was inquiring about a month or so back. You won't regret it!!

Yes I have noticed that my plans are starting to involve welding more often. I can see one in the near future.

Lol. At the time I didn't have the money for the idea we talked about at the time and I was trying to get it done quick. If I knew currie was going to take so long I would have waited and did our idea.
