Street/Trail tires

Looking into getting new tires for my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I have 35" x 12.5" now, plenty of clearance, plenty of flex. Need a tire that is good for the trail and the road, something with a strong sidewall (yes the wife will be driving it) that i can run at low psi while hitting the trail with lots of grip either aired down or fully aired for freeway driving.

Also what would you suggest to either co2 or Nitrogen to fill the tires, I have tanks made for both.

You are asking for the impossible. A tire that is good for street and trail, with a strong sidewall. Pick two.

I like BFG A/T's, but I wouldn't rave about their sidewalls, and they're crappy in mud. I like Swamper SX's and Creepy Crawlers, but they're no good on the street.

as for the other, I wouldn't run either, just regular air. There is no real reason to run exotic gases in a 4x4... the difference in expansion rates etc just doesn't matter one bit.

I would recomend the Cooper Discover STT. I have been running them since November. They work great off-road. On road they are no worse than the MTR's they replaced. And the sidewall is "hella tuff".

Are those the ones that have a tread pattern similar to Toyos? If so, I saw a set for the first time last week and was pretty impressed. They seem to be like a Toyo with all the bad stuff fixed. (stronger sidewall, more sidewall tread, softer rubber compound)
