Suggestions on where to repair laptops?

Jenn's POS compaq M2000 has broken. It will not charge the battery and shorts the wall adaptor at the PC when you plug it in. This is apparently a common problem on this model. I need to have it repaired (jenn doesn't have the $$ for a new one) and have no idea where to take it. Any suggestions?

TIA

I took an old Dell in once, they were very polite and fixed it fast. And that was before I knew Olly worked there.

Actually, Olly was probably still in high school then. :D

Sweet!!

Do you what store he's at? It will be nice to have someone to deal with that will shoot me straight.

Those RME donations are well worth it:D

I'm not a fan of PC Laptops. The only dealing I've had with them was with one of their own laptops. They didn't want to repair it, they would rather try and sell me a new one of their piles. I still have a dead laptop sitting in my closet. -_- Maybe dealing with Olly you'll have better luck.

Yep, Olly is at the one on 78th and Redwood.

I had a similar experience to alot of others it sounds like with a desktop that I took in to have repaired. Took 8 or 9 times for them (not Olly) to get it through their heads that I would rather spend $200 to fix it than $1400 for a new one.

If its a laptop not worht much, and the prices do tank.. just sell it on ebay and go get you one of those memorial day specials like 400-600 dollars...
