Sway-a-way Airshock questions

I found a set of 18 inch travel 2.0 airshocks for a good deal and Im ready to jump on them but one has the newer chrome shaft and the other 3 are like a black color he said he bent a shaft on one and sent it in and sway away rebuilt with a chrome shaft. He assured me they all work great.

Is there any reason why I should stay away from the older style shaft???

As I understand it, the newer chrome shaft won't be as resistant to pitting & scratching, the black colored shafts are Nitro Steel which has a much harder finish and is more resistant to scratching & denting. Sounds like SAW rebuilt that shock with cheaper parts, IMO.

If you really care, in the future you could rebuild the shock with the chrome shaft and replace it with a Nitro Steel shaft so it matches the others... like I said, if you care that much.

If they're a good deal, I'd see no reason to pass on it.
