Tacoma banjo bolt hitting shocks

During our run up constrictor last night we noticed that 1 of my banjo bolts was leaking. Upon closer investigation we could see where the head of the bolt keeps hitting the bottom eye Of the shock. It seems that with the wheels in full turn and the suspension at full droop is when the collision happens.

Have any of you ever heard of this happening before?

I'm surprised that it's a common problem... You'd think Toyota engineers could have easily avoided this. Does it only happen with aftermarket shocks?

You could easily grind a little bit off of the head of the bolt if it just barely hits, but I wouldn't be comfortable grinding much.:eek2:

They are still stock uppers. Will the aftermarket arms help with this?

I have planned to do the tundra upgrade but aren't the fittings in the exact same place?

What are you guys doing to keep your calipers safe?

Wow. Thats crazy

No adjustable steering stops, then again less steering angle is a bummer.

Can ya machine down head of bango bolt to give you another 30 or 40 thou clearance.

Drill and tap a new line brake fitting on caliper in different location

The tundra swap parts are nice. The 2006 4runner V8 sport has stock 13.3" rotors. FYI

My first thought was that I must have broken off some sort of steering stop until I looked a little closer. I don't think I could machine enough off of the bolt to provide enough clearance since the gouge in the shock is pretty deep and I doubt that's as far as it travels.

What's this about the V8 4runner brakes? Is it a better source for big brakes?

We use the 4runner 06 sport v8 rotor for our 6 lug conversion stuff.

Has the same backspacing as ram 1500 05

1.25" thick
