Tacoma Suspension suggestions?

I recently got some new tires (BFG KO2s). Up until I got them, I was 100% convinced I'd be doing an OME lift once I had the tires on. Now that I have them on, I'm not so sure I want to do the lift. This truck is primarily my DD, it sees occasional fire roads and it's never been "wheeled". I'm a firm believer in building for function. I do think it needs a slight lift in the front to level it out. Is it worth just doing the OME lift (had one on my 2003 DC and loved it) or is there a good leveling kit alternative? I'm also planning to add an ARB (or similar, but likely the ARB) plate front bumper, so I'll really need to level it out once that's on so I'll need to do something either way. I do have a 6x10 enclosed trailer that I tow with my dirt bike in it.

Thoughts???

I have a $150 daystar 2.5/1" spacer lift on my 4runner and it's just fine. I did replace the upper control arms to wirh some light racing ones to get my alignment back to stock, but for a DD rig that won't see tons of offroad, I think it's great.

Oh yeah, forgot you went through a similar discussion with your Runner. I'll have to dig up that thread. Thanks

I love OME setups, just make sure you get the right spring rate. For my rig, the available spring rates in the rear were either 10% stiffer, or 90% stiffer. I wanted about 30-40% stiffer, so I help off on the OME.

If I were to do it all over again, I'd stick with the setup I have now; I like it.

I've put Bilstien 5100 adjustables on the front of two different Tacomas recently to level them. Both owners say they love them. One, everything is stock, just wanted leveling, he kept his factory coils. The other has a winch bumper and some armor and was sagging pretty bad to begin with, he went with some heavier Eibach coils. Both ended up with about the same stance though, about 1.5 - 1.7 inches higher than stock in the front. They both say the ride is much improved over stock.

I would also recommend the adjustable bilstiens or the specter lift that bolts on top of the upper strut mount depending on end goals/budget. I have installed Fat Bobs, Ruff Country, Daystar (most spacer kits are the same), OME kits and bilstiens. IMO the OME kits feel like a harsh ride (idk the spring rates used) The bolt on kits are cheap and simple. Some have 1 or 2 optional 1/4" plates to bump it a little more for heavy bumpers ect... What ever you do it's becoming a common trend for newer Tacomas and 4runners to wear out the needle bearing in the carrier on the drivers side. I would recommend a diff drop on even a 1.5-2" lift to try and prevent it.

If it where me I would do the bolt on kit for Simplicity and cost if your not going to be doing anything other then dirt roads/camping type stuff. But if you do it in stages the adjustable bilstiens may be nice for fine tuning your height.
