Tank safety stickers on motorcycles.

I'm gonna be purchasing a new motorcycle this week. It's a Qujos Defiant 250. Exact replica of a Yamaha Virago 250. Mainly going to use it for commuting to and from work. No freeway driving, so it won't be too bad. But it's got an ugly safety sticker on the top of the tank about safety precautions and warnings. Does anyone know if it is illegal to remove such stickers? I thought I read somewhere once that it was and if you had a tough inspection station, they would fail your for it. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of factory motorcycles that don't place stickers right there, so it's got me wondering.

Thanks

On the ATV's the "important" ones are riveted on, stickers fall off, get blown off at the car wash, etc..... right? :D

My understanding with those warning labels (all of them) is that they can be removed by the purchaser...

So do they have a warning sticker police like they have a pillow tag police?
