Hate to ask, but what happened to the tree in the second and third pics? Looks like someone added a bypass before you guys got there and destroyed a tree to do so?

I first ran that trail over 20 years ago. The place where the tree is missing is to the left of the original trail and is over where a "challenge route" has been created (the pics shown are OFF of the original trail. It is not where an easy bypass was created around an original obsticle.

The tree that you can see in the pics posted by Meat_ is still there. It just out of the pics in the original post. You can see it's branches still though.
