thats exactly why we were told to always take those off when I worked at discount tire, glad nothing happened to your family or you though or anyone else who might have come into contact with that tire/wheelI wish the tech who installed the after market wheels on my Wife's Denali at Jerry Seiner would have watched this first...
As it was, I ended up driving a tripod with my whole family in it down southbound I-15 through Cedar City watching my liberated front driver side wheel and tire bouncing up northbound I-15 into oncoming traffic. Was very conflicted whether to spend my hope on getting our vehicle under control or spending my hope on the tire/wheel not killing the people it was bouncing towards. As it turned out, getting our vehicle under control wasn't that hard, so all my hope was spent on the strangers in the opposing lanes.
Not a good time...
During inspection at the dealer in Cedar it was me who pointed the presence of those washers out. The service manager gave me a blank stare, the tech cursed under his breath and then explained it to the manager.
